Strathfield House
Grand statements, a predominantly monochrome palette and a Mediterranean aesthetic were the clients’ requests for this sizeable Sydney residence.
Central to that was their desire for a double staircase, a striking feature that celebrates the house’s black and white pairing in one sweeping gesture. Greg Natale Design created this masterpiece by teaming black granite treads with patterned tiles for the risers. The tiles, in three alternating monochrome patterns, present an eye-catching detail that works beautifully with the lines of the iron balustrade and the black-painted chair rails and cornices on the surrounding walls and ceiling.
Pattern plays a key role in the house’s design, with Mediterranean-style tiles adorning the bathrooms and delicately detailed carpet in the bedrooms.
