Balmain House

This three-storey new build on Sydney Harbour boasts a light-filled, open interior with a touch of Palm Springs glamour.

Despite the small site, the sense of space and height are boosted via elements such as floor-to-ceiling windows and a retracting wall in the main living area.

Jonathan Adler pieces enhance the Hollywood Regency style and upbeat palette, while retro-inspired besser blocks divide the kitchen and main staircase yet still allow light and air to permeate.

The Balmain House was short-listed in the 2010 Interior Design Excellence Awards and Australian Interior Design Awards.
